NEVADA CCW | PISTOL I COURSE
Our CCW | Pistol I course is our most sought-after class. The State of Nevada requires eight hours of instruction by a licensed firearm instructor to qualify for application of your CCW. First, we conduct the classroom portion for two hours in our on-site classroom going over Federal laws, Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) laws, and real-world scenario discussions. Then we go to our outdoor range where we spend six hours going through different shooting evolutions designed to teach an individual who has never shot before, yet increase skill sets for intermediate to advanced shooters. The first hour we focus on firearm safety, handgun components, functions, stance, draw stroke, grip, sight picture/sight alignment, breathing, and trigger control. The last five hours is spent going through shooting evolutions that are real-world scenario based. During this time, you will fire between 150-200 rounds of ammunition on a standard B27 target while learning and having fun at the same time. We promise. Our curriculum is rated #1 in the nation per Senator Thune (R-SD) and former Senator Vitter (R-LA) who are using it as a template for national reciprocity. We offer both one- and two-day options with multiple classes available each month. See our Training Calendar for availability.
This is a new one-day class being offered this year and is designed to meet all of the State of Nevada requirements for application of your CCW. The first part of the course will be done in our on-site classroom and consists of 7 hours of classroom instruction where we cover Federal laws, Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) laws, firearm safety, handgun components, functions, stance, draw stroke, grip, sight picture/sight alignment, breathing, trigger control, and real-world scenario discussions. The second part and final hour of this course will be conducted in our on-site indoor range where you will fire a minimum of 30 rounds of ammunition on a standard B27 target. This course is designed to be engaging and fun at the same time. We promise. See our Training Calendar for availability.
Yes, we conduct Nevada CCW renewals. Renewals will need to take a refresher course for at least 4 hours and demonstrate continued competence with a handgun. You will fire a minimum of 30 rounds of ammunition on a standard B27 target to qualify and be on you way.
$50 Nevada CCW Renewal Course
If NFAR is on the range and would like to break-in a new handgun, its free to come work on your skill sets anytime. You’re part of the family.
This course begins where our Pistol I leaves off. Unlike Pistol I, there is no classroom portion. We start on the range. After working on a few small skills sets we roll immediately into moving and shooting, shooting from a knee, and slowly incorporate barricades and steels within our evolutions. Because of the intermediate to advanced nature of this curriculum, our preference is that we’ve shot with you before in the Pistol I class so that we know your ability and preferred teaching style as we move fast through each evolution. We throw a lot of lead in a condensed amount of time (six hours on the range) and knowing you can keep up is key. Remember, safety never takes a holiday.
